By beating Fiat/Minas with 3-1 (18-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-19) in Round 8 of the 2019/20 Superliga Masculina regular season, EMS Taubaté Funvic recorded an eighth victory, no defeats, to collect 24 points and remain isolated in the lead. Ricardo Lucarelli top-scored for the winning side with 18 points, while Felipe Roque tallied 15 points for Minas.
Following the recent defeat to Italian Cucine Lube Civitanova in the FIVB Club World Championship final, Sada Cruzeiro prevailed in an away match against APAN Blumenau in straight sets despite playing without starting outside hitter Facundo Conte. The Argentinean was out due to the decision of the coaching staff. It was Cruzeiro’s sixth win, have only one defeat, which placed them just behind Taubaté in the charts.
Pacaembu Ribeirão Preto wrote down the third win in a row, while Vôlei UM Itapetininga interrupted their own six-game losing streak.
