In the last match of Round 8 of the 2019/20 Superliga Masculina regular season, which was also a derby of the two teams from the top 4 in the charts, Sesi-SP dominated Sesc RJ: 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-16). The side from São Paulo imposed a strong start in each of the three sets, 7-2 in all of them, to take over the vice-leaders position from Sada Cruzeiro.
Alan Souza top-scored for Sesi with 16 points, which converted through a 71% attack (15/21). Éder Carbonera set up 5 kill blocks, while Lucas Lóh made 78% reception (18 digs, 50% excellent). As for Sesc, Wallace Souza scored 14 points, while Maurício Borges made 73% attack 8/11).
