In the penultimate round of the first half of the 2019/20 Superliga Feminina regular season, Osasco beat Minas by a 3-2 (25-20, 21-25, 16-25, 25-20, 15-9) and rose to the 4th place in the charts. This was the first defeat of the titleholders in the competition that came after 9 wins. Minas have now fallen to the 3rd place in the standings. The match was marked with the appearance of 3 Olympic winners (Thaísa and Jaqueline in Minas and Sheilla in Osasco) on the court and by the 40th birthday of Minas head coach Nicola Negro, whose celebration of a big day was spoiled with a defeat. Cuban opposite hitter Heidy Casanova put down 23 points for the winning side for which Jaqueline Endres made 5 kill blocks and Roberta Ratzke served 4 aces. Bruna Honório and Kasiely Clemente “Kasi” scored 14 points apiece for Minas.

With a straight-set victory over C.R. Flamengo, the vice-champions Dentil/Praia Clube moved up to the 2nd place in the standings, skipping Minas. Fluminense F.C. improved their ranking by 4 places (from 10th to 6th) after prevailing over Curitiba Vôlei (3-1).
