Bruninho, Lucao, Rivaldo and Jurquin alternated moments of brilliance with others of discretion in this match. In the fifth set, the team from Rio de Janeiro stood out more, avenged the defeat in the first round and ended the 100% success streak of Medley Campinas in tie-breaks. Marcelo Fronckowiak‘s team regained the first place in the standings.
“All games from now on will be balanced. In the final stretch, all teams will try to win. I think the team has shown significant strength to react and seek victory” said Theo, who started the match on the bench and was elected by the Brazilian Confederation of Volleyball (CBV) as the best on the court.
Campinas, sixth in the Superliga, are back on the court next Wednesday when they will meet Volei Futuro. On Thursday, Rio de Janeiro hosts Juiz de Fora.
