At home, Praia beat Curitiba with a score of 3-0 in a game valid for the penultimate round (Round 21) of the 2021/22 Women’s Superliga. The result to which it was led by Dominican Brayelin Martínez (15 points) and Ana Carolina Silva ‘Carol’ (4 blocks) ensured the triumph of the Uberlândia team in the regular season and signed the relegation of their today’s rivals, who remained at single digits in the charts (8 points; one point more than the last-placed Unilife-Maringá), to the 2nd Division (Superliga B). On the other hand, Praia went to 55 points, 3 points more than vice-leaders Itambé Minas, with one round left till the end of the first phase.

Beating 4th-placed Osasco São Cristóvão Saúde in the big match (the so-called ‘clássico nacional’) in 4 sets, Minas secured No. 2 for the playoffs, while their today’s opponents will have to defend the place No.4 (the last place that guarantees the home-court advantage in the next phase) in the last round.
