Maringá won 25-21, 25-22, 25-19 in the penultimate round of the first half of the 2025/26 season. The result moved the home team into seventh place with 12 points, placing it back among the top eight teams that qualify for the Copa Brasil.

Mackenzie remained 10th with nine points and now faces a difficult path to advance. The Belo Horizonte-based club must win its final match against Sesc RJ Flamengo by either 3-0 or 3-1 and depend on lopsided losses by Paulistano Barueri and Brasília to finish the round inside the top eight.

Outside hitter Sabrina Vitoriano led Maringá with 13 points and was named the match’s most valuable player. Middle blocker Andressa Picussa also scored 13, and opposite hitter Jaqueline Schmitz added 12. For Mackenzie, Saraelen Lima, Arianne Tolentino and Gabriella Souza – Gabiru finished with nine points each.
