Itambé Minas officially welcomed Cuban opposite José Masso. Club announced that the 28-year-old, who stands 2.04m, had arrived in Belo Horizonte and had already joined the rest of the squad.

Masso had been listed on the roster the club presented in August. According to O Tempo, he had been with the team since last week while his paperwork was being completed. The Cuban international has played club volleyball in Germany, Portugal, Egypt, Spain, Iran and South Korea.
He joins a Minas side that has been busy this summer. Ricardo Lucarelli and Henrique Honorato have returned, and libero Maique and head coach Pedro Uehara (“Peu”) have also arrived. Minas have already won this season’s Minas Gerais state championship, ending a 19-year wait.
