Bra vs. Ita
Brazil opened match much better and after half an hour they took the lead in sets 1-0! In the second set, both teams gave strong effort but Italy tied the score (29-27).
Home team again started playing with familiar style and they took the lead again! Berruto’s team had an answer again in the fourth set and both sides went to tiebreak!
In the decisive set the first point went to Brazil! Then, teams started playing “point after point” game! At the result 12-11 for Italy, Lucarelli hit the wall and away side had two points of advantage!
But, Brazil didn’t want to surrender that easy, and Lucarelli score an ace to tie the result in front of 11,000 people.
Rezende’s side had the match point at the result 17-16, but Italians save it and later, with a huge block ended the set 21-19 and took the 3-2 win!
Saatkamp was the top scorer on home side, while Sabbi scored 19 for Italy!
