Praia – Minas
With a 3-0 win, partially 25-21, 25-18 and 25-22, after one hour and 35 minutes of a match, Praia closed the best of three semifinal series by 2-1 and secured place in the final against Rexona-Ades.
Relying on the strength of their veterans Walewska Oliveira and Cuban Daymí Ramírez, but mostly on American Alexandra Klineman, and helped by the fans which pressured rival star player Tandara Caixeta, Praia easily took first and second set. Praia secured advance to the finals with a huge comeback (trailed 17-21) in the third set.
Klineman topped Praia’s scorers with 12 points, Tandara and Mara Leão had 10 each in Minas.
