In Group 1 – Pool B1 clash in Rio de Janeiro, Asian giants demonstrated power against rejuvenated National Team of Serbia 3-0 (31-29, 25-18, 28-26).

Japanese players took advantage of Serbia’s head coach decision to take players with not so many tough games in the NT jersey on their account to Rio to start 2016 FIVB World Grand Prix campaign with a confident win. Although, Serbia have provided strong resistance in the first and the third set.

Sarina Koga was the best scorer in Japan with 20 points while Jovana Brakočević had 18 in Serbia.
