The European Volleyball Confederation determined pairs of 2016/2017 CEV Champions League at the annual European Volleyball Gala which took place in Rome, Italy.

A draw which occurred in Italian capital could be easily called a historic one as CEV changed the format of the competition providing a chance to many more countries than before to compete in Europe’s elite club tournament. As many as 66 teams – 36 in male and 30 in female competition from 29 countries overall – will perform as from qualifications with many making their debut in the CEV Champions League.
