Somehow it was logical that he scores the last point in his farewell match and that’s exactly what happened.
At 14-8 in the fourth set, which was played up to 15 because of the heat, Serginho stepped on the service line. Of course, it was not in accordance to volleyball regulations since he is a libero, but it was an exhibition. He successfully served at the second attempt (referees gave him a second chance), while Portuguese players did not try to receive it.
That point marked the start of euphoria on the stands – Serginho went to the legend!
