Sesi vs. Taubate

But unlike Paulista clash, won by Taubaté, last night the hosts Sesi prevailed with a straight-set triumph, partially 25-23, 25-18 and 25-18. While this is the fourth consecutive victory of Sesi, Taubaté got themselves a two-game losing streak.

With this victory, Sesi jumped from third to second place in the standings with 19 points, only two points behind the leaders Sada Cruzeiro with whom they will clash next Saturday. Taubaté, on the other hand, dropped from fourth to fifth place with 14 points, returning to play this Wednesday against São Bernardo.

Before the beginning of the match, packed stands and players and staff of both teams paid tribute with a minute of silence to the victims of the plane crash involving Brazilian football team Chapecoense, three days ago.

Douglas Souza stood out in Sesi with 14 points while Wallace Souza had 11 in Taubaté.
