Thus, Taubaté management decided to keep their best players from last season and reinforce the squad with a few big names. Many names were connected with Taubaté lately so, club was forced to go public and reveal their transfer activities.
The team from São Paulo state confirmed parting ways with coach Cezar Douglas after three four years and appointing Argentinian Daniel Castellani, from Belgian Noliko Maaseik instead.
In addition to the new coach, Taubaté formalized signing with Serbian receiver Marko Ivović (Asseco Resovia Rzeszów, Poland), libero Thalles Hoss (Lebes Gedore Canoas), Argentine middle blockers Sebastian Solé (Diatec Trentino, Italy) and Rafael Martins (Montes Claros) and setter Paulo Renan (Kemas Lamipel Santa Croce, Italy, Division 2).
Seven players from last season’s roster are confirmed for 2017/2018: setter Raphael Oliveira ‘Rapha’, the opposites Wallace Souza and Renan Santos, receiver Ricardo Lucarelli, middle blockers Otávio Pinto and Nicolas Santos as well as libero Matheus Oliveira.
Taubaté management will discuss on the fate of other players from last season’s roster in coming days.
