A 38-year-old Italian expert Stefano Lavarini will take over Brazilian Women’s volleyball top division team instead of Paulo Rego ‘Paulo Coco’ after spending six years at helm of Foppapedretti Bergamo (seven including a role of an assistant). With this Italian team, Lavarini won national Cup in 2015 and took part in winning the national title in 2011.
So far, Minas signed with coach Lavarini and Best Setter of Brazilian Superliga in the last four seasons, Macrís Silva.
They renewed with U.S. opposite Destinee Hooker, setter Karine Guerra, receivers Rosamaria Montibeller, Priscila Daroit ‘Pri Daroit’ and Karoline Tórmena ‘Karol’, middle blocker Mara Leão and libero Léia Nicolosi.
Minas also added four players from their youth team to the senior roster: Mayany Araújo (middle blocker), Natália Monteiro (receiver) and Geórgia Cattani (libero).
