BRA W: Osasco extend domination in Paulista Championship that started in 2012

Vôlei Nestlé/Osasco’s domination in the Women’s volleyball São Paulo State Championship (Campeonato Paulista), that started in 2012, goes on.

Osasco lost the rematch of the 2017 Paulista Championship finals against Hinode Barueri in front of own fans 3-2 (24-26, 23-25, 25-23, 25-22, 15-12) but, since they prevailed in Game 1 by a 3-0, they gained the right to play the golden set, which they claimed by a 25-23 to win the sixth consecutive state title and thrill the packed „Ginásio Professor José Liberatti“ gymnasium (5,000 spectators).

In the finals, Osasco could not count on the head coach Luizomar Moura, who is engaged with the Peruvian Women’s National Team. He was replaced in these two games by the assistant coach Spencer Lee. Barueri were also weakened as their starting setter Naiane Rios suffered an injury on the training before Game 1.
