By running over EMS Taubaté Funvic in Round 12, which was the last round this year, the newcomers Sesc-RJ settled at the top of the Superliga rankings, squeezing defending champions Sada Cruzeiro into No.2

Maurício Borges and Tiago Barth led Sesc with 13 and 12 points, respectively, towards the 3-0 win on the road over Taubaté, for whom Wallace Souza made 14 points. With this defeat, Taubaté left the third place in the standings to Sesi-SP, who defeated Copel/Telecom/Maringá by a 3-0.

The first Superliga round in 2018 (January 14) will bring Sesc vs. Cruzeiro derby!
