The fourth-seed EMS Taubaté Funvic beat No.5 Minas Tênis Clube on the road by a 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-20) to close the Superliga 2017/2018 quarterfinal series with a 2-0.
The Serbian Marko Ivović served 5 aces, scoring a total of 11 points for the winning side. Wallace Souza delivered 11 points as well. The Argentinean middle blocker Sebastián Solé made 80% attack (8/11, blocked once). Henrique Honorato scored 10 points for Minas. He recorded 74% reception (19 digs, 1 error, 74% excellent).
In the best-of-five semis, Taubaté will face No.1 Sada Cruzeiro, their rivals in the last season’s Superliga finals.
The other semifinal matchup is between No.2 Sesc-RJ and No.3 Sesi-SP.
