EUROVOLLEY 2019 W: Serbia open tournament with a convincing win, France defeat Bulgaria

The reigning champions Serbia have scored a 3-0 win over Finland at the start of the European Championship.

The head coach of Serbia Zoran Terzic gave a chance to almost all the players in the team. Ana Bjelica was the best scorer with 10 points, while on the other side Pila Korhonen had the best scoring display with 12 points.

A game between France and Bulgaria was the first game at the championship and we had an opportunity to watch an amazing battle between these two sides. 

The French girls, led by Helena Cazaute who scored 26 points, have managed to beat Bulgaria and to cause slight surprise at the start of EuroVolley. 

In Bulgaria, Miroslava Paskova had 18 while Elitsa Vasileva ended game with 16 points.

POOL A, day 1:

France – Bulgaria 3-2 (25-20, 13-25, 25-15, 19-25, 15-13) 

Serbia – Finland 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-17)

Turkey – Greece 19:00 CET (Friday, 23 August)
