Serbia National Team dominated Bulgaria in the first quarter-final match at the 2019 CEV European Women’s Volleyball Championship.

Serbia (No.1 in Pool A) are really dominant in the 2019 EuroVolley so far (did not lose a single match in the campaign; 7-0).

The reigning champions justified the role of the favorites in the quarter-final duel against Bulgaria (No.3 in Pool A), played in Ankara, Turkey: 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 28-26).

Earlier in the tournament, Serbia managed to prevail some games even when their head coach Terzić decided to rest some starters for the entire match, like in the eighth-finals, or when he was changing line-up in each set. This time, against Bulgaria, Terzić “put into operation” all main forces and the result was the straight-set win. It would be unfair to say that Bulgaria were without any chance in the match – they had a set point in the third set (26-25).

Tijana Bošković top-scored for Serbia with 22 points. Elitsa Vasileva notched 18 for Bulgaria, while libero Zhana Todorova made 70% positive reception (27 digs, 1 error, 33% excellent).

2019 CEV European Women’s Volleyball Championship quarter-finals:

Ankara (Turkey):

Serbia – Bulgaria 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 28-26)

Turkey – Netherlands 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-20)

Łódź (Poland):

Italy vs. Russia, 18:00 C.E.T.

Poland vs. Germany, 20:30 C.E.T.
