Vojvodina

At home, Serbian titleholders Vojvodina NS Seme Novi Sad bounced back from a straight-set defeat to Romanian side C.S. Municipal Arcada Galați in the first leg. They recorded a four-set victory and pushed the match to the Golden Set in which they were a better side: 3-1 (25-20, 21-25, 25-21, 25-22), Golden Set (15-11). Thus, the only team that represents Serbia in any of the European cups this season has progressed to the 3rd Round. Aleksandar Blagojević top-scored for Vojvodina with 26 points, while Nemanja Mašulović impressed in the block (9 kill blocks!). The Dutchman Niels Klapwijk poured in 19 points for Arcada, including 4 aces, while Estonian Kristo Kollo made 84% reception (19 digs, 26% excellent).

SK Zadruga Aich/Dob failed to repeat the stunt that Vojvodina made in their face-off. Austrian team fought hard against Mladost Zagreb from Croatia to earn the right to play Golden Set valid for advancing to the next round, but lost it. In the first leg it was 3-1 for Mladost, tonight it was the same outcome but into the favor of Zadruga. As for the Golden Set, Mladost dominated in it and eliminated big MEVZA rivals. Marino Marelić led the ultimate winners with 24 points, while Slovakian Peter Mlynarčík scored 31 points for Zadruga.
