Taubate-vs-Blumenau
The champions EMS Taubaté Funvic presented to their audience in a good manner in the first match of the 2019/20 Superliga Masculina regular season. They swept newcomers APAN Blumenau, who earned the spot in Superliga by winning the silver medal in the second division last season, by a 3-0 (25-12, 25-14, 25-18).
The Olympic champion Maurício Souza led Taubaté with 19 points, of which 6 came from the block. As for the returnees to the Brazilian top division after eight years, there were no double-digit players in their roster.
