As expected, Italy’s Itas Trentino are through to the pool stage of the 2021 Men’s Champions League. They outclassed the hosts Lindaren Volley Amriswil on the last day of the competition in Pool H of the 2nd Round of qualifications.
Although in theory, the Swiss side was hoping to be the one that will advance to the main stage of the tournament, Trentino didn’t allow such a sensation: 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-18). Brazilian Ricardo Lucarelli was Trentino’s top scorer with 11 points.
Thanks to earning first place in Pool H, the SuperLega club will be the protagonist of the Champions League pool stage for the 10th time in its 20-year history. There, it will be placed in Pool E along with Russia’s Lokomotiv Novosibirsk, Germany’s VfB Friedrichshafen, and Czech ČEZ Karlovarsko.
There’s only one remaining spot in the pool stage, which will be filled with the winners of Pool G of the qualifications (schedule yet unknown) that consists of Romania’s C.S.M. Arcada Galați, Hungary’s Fino Kaposvár VC, and Poland’s Jastrzębski Węgiel.
