THY İstanbul closed a tournament in Las Palmas (Spain) with two wins. Firstly, they beat Romania’s C.S.M. Lugoj by 3-0 in the 1/8 finals, while today, they swept France’s Vandœuvre Nancy VB: 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-19). Ebrar Karakurt top-scored THY with 17 points, while Büşra Şahin made 5 blocks. American Madison Kingdon was superb in reception (93 %; 53 % excellent).
As hosts, Sistem9 Yeşilyurt İstanbul prevailed over Lithuania’s TK Kaunas VDU by a 3-0 in the eighth-finals yesterday and, led by Canadian Jennifer Cross (13 points; 4 blocks), over Portugal’s Kairós Ponta Delgada with the same result in the quarterfinals today.
