Spain, Croatia, Belarus, France and Bulgaria were the winners of their matches in the European Golden League on Friday.
Pool C finished the competition, and the Czech Republic remained at the top of the table, followed by Croatia with 11 points after 4 wins from 6 games. Pool A and B will continue their games over the weekend.
Pool C
Croatia v Hungary 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-23)
Croatia defeated Hungary 3-0 and has to wait for the outcome in the other groups in order to qualify for the Final Four in Bulgaria as the best second-placed team. (Provided that Bulgaria as the host of the tournament finishes first in its group) Croatian Samanta Fabris was the top scorer with 15 points, while Matea Ikić added 14. Kata Torok and Eszter Anna Pekarik were the top scorers for Hungary with 9 points each.
Belarus v Czech Republic 3-2 (25-22, 25-18, 20-25, 21-25, 15-8)
The teams of the Czech Republic and Belarus clashed in the last match of the Golden European League 2021 in Prague. After five sets, Belarus beat the Czech Republic 3-2. Lucie Nova from the Czech Republic was the top scorer with 29 points. Hanna Davyskiba scored 19 points for Belarus.
Pool A
Spain v Azerbaijan 3-1 (25-19, 22-25, 25-21, 25-13)
Spain scored another 3 points, after winning the fourth match of the European Golden League. Raquel Montoro from Spain was the top scorer with 18 points, and Ana Escamilla added 17. Anastasia Mertsalova with 16 points was the top scorer of Azerbaijan.
Romania v France 0-3 (17-25, 18-25, 23-25)
France celebrates a 3-0 victory over Romania. France finished the match in three sets, jumping to second place in Pool A, still having a chance to qualify for the Final Four. Lucille Gicquel with 17 points was the France top scorer. Alexia Ioana Carutasu was Romania top scorer with 11 points.
Pool B
Bulgaria v Slovakia 3-0 (25-21, 25-14, 25-22)
Despite securing the place in the Final Four as the host, Bulgaria continues to prove quality as the leaders of the table in Pool B. Bulgaria continues winning streak after scoring second consecutive victory against Slovakia. Elitsa Vasileva and Nikola Radosova from Bulgaria finished as the top scorers with 13 points each.
