Olympiacos, led by the Italian expert Alberto Giuliani, reached the men’s final of the Challenge Cup. In the match that was postponed yesterday due to riots in the stands, Travica, Stern, Hidalgo and company defeated Panathinaikos 3-1 (22-25 27- 25 25-21 25-17), “retaliated” for the previous defeat at home floor, and then dominated the golden set 15-6.
Olympiacos will play in the final against Maccabi. Maccabi Yeadim Tel Aviv, after losing the tie break in Portugal ( two sets were enough from the second match in Portugal), made it to the finals of the CEV Challenge Cup and made a historic success for their country.
