ANCONA, ITALY – On the penultimate day of the EuroVolley competition in Pool A, Serbia and Belgium solidified their standing with decisive wins.
The Serbian squad demonstrated their prowess by defeating Germany with a 3-1 scoreline (25-22, 20-25, 25-22, 25-19). György (George) Grozer led the scoreboard with an impressive 22 points. While in Serbian team the most effective were Drazen Luburic and Miran Kujundzic with 15 and 14 points respectively. Following this win, Serbia has guaranteed their position in second place in Group A.
Looking ahead, Serbia’s round of 16 opponents will be determined tomorrow, as they are set to face either the Czech Republic or North Macedonia. Germany, on the other hand, will be gearing up for a clash against the Netherlands.
Earlier in the day, Belgium cemented their place in the next round by triumphing over Estonia in a 3-1 match (25-18, 25-17, 12-25, 25-19). This win ensured Belgium’s progression to the EuroVolley round of 16.
