In an five-set match at the Burhan Felek Volleyball Hall in Istanbul, MINT Vero Volley Monza emerged victorious over Galatasaray HDI Istanbul, securing their place in the European final with scores of 16-25, 20-25, 25-21, 25-22, 12-15. This win marks the third European final appearance for the Monza, which has previously clinched the CEV Cup in 2022 and was a finalist in the 2019 Challenge Cup.
Leading the charge for Monza were Loeppky and Mujanovic, each tallying 16 points, and supported by Maar with 13 points. On the Galatasaray side, Hadrava stood out with 18 points, followed closely by Mijailovic’s 17.
Gianluca Galassi of MINT Vero Volley Monza shared his thoughts post-match, emphasizing the significance of the win and the team’s focus on the upcoming challenges. “It was the result we wanted, even if maybe not in five sets,” Galassi said. “We are very happy. Now we will have a very complicated period between the championship and the European final: now a bit of rest because we want to arrive in the best way to the match on Saturday against Piacenza.”
