Itas Trentino has triumphed over Cucine Lube Civitanova in a riveting CEV Champions League 2024 semifinal, booking their third finals appearance in the last four years. Despite losing the away match 2-3, with set scores of 24-26, 25-20, 25-22, 18-25, 9-15, Trentino’s two sets in the second and victory in the first leg with a 3-1 proved decisive.

Cucine Lube Civitanova’s valiant effort in the sold-out Eurosuole Forum, cheered on by nearly 4,000 fans, fell short of overturning their first-leg defeat. The match featured outstanding performances, with Civitanova’s Nikolov leading the scoring with 19 points, supported by Lagumdzija (15) and Anzani (11). Trentino’s Michieletto shone as the Most Valuable Player, scoring 14 points with a 68% positive attack rate, alongside Lavia, who also made significant contributions in the first three sets.

The finals will see Trentino facing Jastrzebski Wegiel, which edged out Ziraat Bank Ankara in their semifinal clash.
