In a swift move following the departure of Cedric Enard, the Croatian Volleyball Federation has named Igor Juričić as the new head coach of the men’s national team. Enard, the French former coach, left his position for a new role in Turkey, prompting the federation to quickly secure a successor.
Igor Juričić, a Rijeka native born on November 7, 1974, has been selected to lead the Croatian team. Juričić, who started his volleyball journey as a middle blocker, initially played for OK Rijeka, then moved to Varazdin, and later joined Croatian powerhouse HAOK Mladost Zagreb, where he played from 1995 to 1999. His professional career also took him to Poland, Austria, Italy, and France. He retired at the age of 37 to begin his career in coaching. His coaching journey has taken him through France, Belgium, Russia, and Greece, most recently serving two years with Poland’s Trefl Gdansk.
