The Omaha Supernovas named Luka Slabe as their new head coach ahead of the 2026 Major League Volleyball (MLV) season.
A former Olympic gold medalist and veteran coach for USA Volleyball, Slabe brings decades of elite experience. He played a important role in the U.S. Women’s 2020 Olympic triumph and currently serves as assistant coach for the U.S. Men’s National Team through the LA 2028 Olympic cycle.
“I’m honored to join the Supernovas and help grow this incredible volleyball community,” said Slabe.
Returning for his third season is assistant coach Thomas Robson, who helped lead Omaha to a Pro Volleyball Championship in 2024 and a regular-season title in 2025.
“Luka’s knowledge and leadership are unmatched,” said team president Kim Mendenhall. “Together with Thomas, we’re poised for another championship run.”
Slabe’s extensive résumé includes NCAA coaching stints at BYU and NC State, plus multiple European national competition titles from 2008–2015.
