PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów has made a high-profile move by signing Brazilian opposite Alan Souza for the upcoming PlusLiga season. The 30-year-old will take over the attacking duties from Amin Esmaeilnezhad.
Souza is returning to Poland after a dominant 2023/2024 campaign with Indykpol AZS Olsztyn, where he led the league with 623 points. He spent the last season in Japan’s V.League with Toray Arrows, adding another 666 points to his resume across 35 matches.
“Alan is a complete attacker and a huge asset for our team,” said Skra president Michał Bąkiewicz. “His consistency and experience will be vital for us.”
Souza’s decorated career includes titles with Sada Cruzeiro and gold medals with the Brazilian national team in major international tournaments. He’s currently competing in the Volleyball Nations League, already scoring 141 points in just eight matches—proving he’s in top form for his return to Poland.
