Despite a strong start, TENT couldn’t overcome one of the title favorites. Winning the first set 25-21 secured their second-place finish in the group, guaranteeing a spot in the playoffs. However, Eczacıbaşı quickly regained control, taking the next three sets decisively (25-10, 25-16, 25-22).
Kathryn Boden (Plummer) led Eczacıbaşı with 19 points, supported by Tijana Bošković with 15 and Jovana Stevanović with 12. For TENT, Malina Terrell and Mina Mijatović scored 14 points each. While TENT fell short of an upset, the single set they won proved crucial, ensuring their progression to the playoff stage.
TENT will now face other second and third-placed teams in the playoffs to compete for a remaining quarterfinal spot. Their final group match against Schwerin in Germany carries no pressure, as their set ratio guarantees their position regardless of the outcome.
Eczacıbaşı remains unbeaten, showcasing their strength as a key contender for the championship.
