BKS BOSTIK ZGO Bielsko-Biała delivered a stunning 3-1 victory (25-16, 20-25, 25-21, 25-12) over THY Istanbul in the first leg of the CEV Cup quarterfinals, ending the Turkish team’s perfect run in the competiton so far.
Julita Piasecka (21 points) and Kertu Laak (18 points) led Bielsko-Biała to a dominant win, with MVP Julia Iwona Nowicka orchestrating the attack. THY fought back in the second set, but BKS controlled the rest of the match, sealing the fourth set 25-12.
The decisive second leg takes place February 20 in Istanbul, where THY will fight to stay in the competition.
