Vasas Obuda Budapest secured a 3-1 victory over Moya Radomka Radom in the first leg of the CEV Cup quarterfinals. The return match is set for Tuesday, February 18, in Radom.
Despite strong away performances in previous rounds, Moya Radomka struggled in Budapest, falling to the Hungarian champions. Top scorers for Vasas were Taylor Bannister (24 points) and Fatoumatta Sillah (21), while Monika Gałkowska led Radomka with 22 points.
With this win, Vasas holds the advantage heading into the second leg. The Hungarian team needs just two set wins to advance to the semifinals, while Moya Radomka must win 3-0 or 3-1 and then claim victory in the golden set to progress.
