Despite losing the opening set, Resovia’s strong serving (13 aces to 5) and efficient attack proved decisive. Bartosz Bednorz led with 25 points, while Lukas Vasina (17) and Stephen Boyer (16) added firepower. The return match is set for February 25 in Rzeszów, where Resovia needs just two sets to advance.
Meanwhile, ACH Volley Ljubljana struggled against Ziraat Bankasi Ankara, falling 0-3 (21:25, 20:25, 19:25). Despite a solid start in set three, the Slovenian team couldn’t withstand the powerful play of Matthew Anderson, Trevor Clevenot, and Tonček Štern, who led Ziraat’s dominant performance. The rematch takes place on February 25 in Ankara.
In another thrilling quarterfinal, Knack Roeselare suffered a heartbreaking 2-3 loss to Tours Volley after leading 2-0. Despite controlling the first two sets (25:12, 25:12), Roeselare failed to close out the match, with Alexandre Strehlau’s clutch serving turning the tide for Tours. The decisive fifth set ended 10-15, leaving Knack with a tough road ahead in the second leg.
The return matches on February 25 will determine which teams advance to the semifinals of the 2024 CEV Cup.
