Maritza Plovdiv made a flying start in the Women’s Champions League, smashing Dinamo Zagreb 3-0 (25-21, 25-9, 25-18) in the first leg of the third qualifying round. The match took place in Zagreb’s “Sutinska Vrela” hall.

With this result, the Bulgarian champions need just two sets in the return leg to reach the group stage once again. The decisive match will be played next Wednesday, November 12 in Plovdiv’s “Kolodruma” hall.
Borislava Saykova led Maritza with 16 points (4 blocks, 71% attack success), while Iva Dudova added 14. For Dinamo, Tea Pavacic scored 9 and Anija Jurdza 8.
Maritza now stands just one step away from another season among Europe’s volleyball elite.
