The Olympic and world champions prevailed 25-19, 25-19, 21-25, 25-16 at the Sinan Erdem Sports Hall, reaching the European Championship final for the sixth time in their history.
Italy’s blocking was a major factor in the victory, with the Azzurre finishing with 18 blocks compared with Poland’s four. Paola Egonu led Italy with 21 points, while Ekaterina Antropova added 14 and captain Anna Danesi contributed 12. Julia Szczurowska was Poland’s leading scorer with 16.
Their final opponents, Türkiye, advanced with a straight-sets victory over Serbia and will have the backing of a passionate home crowd in Istanbul.
Italy now stand one match away from adding the European Championship to the Olympic and world titles they already hold, while Türkiye will be aiming to turn home advantage into continental gold.
