CL W: Dinamo Moscow and VakifBank without mercy; American duo led Eczacibasi

Dinamo Moscow, VakifBank Istanbul and Eczacibasi VitrA Istanbul have scored their first victories in the Pool phase of the CEV volleyball Champions League 2017.

Russian giant defeated Romanian team Alba Blaj in Pool B with 3-1 (23-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-14) and closed the first round in that Pool. While VakifBank celebrated win in Pool D against Uralochka 3-1 (18-25, 25-20, 25-16, 25-13).

In front of 2000 domestic spectators Dinamo were led by Nataliya Goncharova who scored 29 points followed by Anastasia Baviyukina and Yana Shcherban who have scored 14 points each. In the team of the Serbian coach Darko Zakoč, Romanian star Nneka Onyejekwe was top scorer with 17 points.

In the second match of the day VakifBank were the host to another Russian team and the MVP of the Olympic Games Zhu Ting was the best scorer of the match with 28 points, Serbian blocker Milena Rašić was the second with 17 points.

In the second round January 10th Vakifbank will play the city derby against Eczacibasi VitrA, who tonight easily defeated Dresdner SC 3-0 (25-17, 25-11, 25-22). American duo LarsonAdams led the team with 14 points each. Tatiana Kosheleva scored 12 points while Thaisa Menezes 9 and Tijana Bošković 7.
