Russian Fakel Novy Urengoy and French Chaumont 52 secured their semifinal spot after second leg of the quarterfinals.
Fakel achieved another straight-set win over Norweigan side Viking TIF Bergen, this time as visitors, with partial 25-13, 25-18, 25-11, and will face winners of Galatasaray İstanbul – Maccabi Tel Aviv face-off (3-0 in the first leg for Turkish team). Ilya Vlasov and Dmitriy Volkov scored 10 points each for Fakel.
Unlike first match, Chaumont drop one set to Spartak Myjava from Slovakia but only after taking first two sets to secure semifinal berth. French club will meet either Turkish Ziraat Bankası or Dutch Draisma Dynamo (3-1 in the first leg for Ziraat). The Dutch receiver Gijs Jorna topped Chaumont’s scorers with 16 points.
