Italian side Modena beat Chemik title holders Chemik in a direct duel for the spot in the Playoffs 6. Modena coach Marco Gaspari did not hide his excitation after the match.
“Making it to the Playoffs 6 is a big thing, a result which we are happy to share with a city as important as Modena, where the fans deserve this kind of result in a season which has been, so far, a difficult one. We have reached an important goal and we did so in a difficult pool, where we won five matches and lost one at the tie-break. Therefore, we deserved to go through and we did it in an important way, because in the two sets that mattered we showed a lot more energy, determination and a much better game compared to Police,” young expert stated.
“First of all, I think that my team could have played much better than they did. We showed in our last practice and in our last match in the Polish national league that we are a strong team and we are getting better and better. We expected to play well today, maybe the problem was in my players’ head; I have to talk with my team. For us, this is the end of our journey in this competition and now we have to focus only on our national league,” Jakub Głuszak, coach of Chemik, was clearly indisposed after the match.
