F4 in Treviso: Vakifbank want third gold

VakifBank ISTANBUL is currently one of the best volleyball teams in the world, who in 2013 won CEV Champions League and FIVB Club World Championship. That was a record year for Guidetti and his girls while this season they will appear at Final Four of CL for the ninth time.

VakifBank twice were the champions of Europe, in season 2010/2011 and 2012/2013. Team from Istanbul also won four silver medals (1997/1998, 1998/1999, 2013/2014, 2015/2016), one bronze medal (2014/2015) and once, they were fourth (2005/2006). So, in the last seven editions of the Final Four of the most powerful competition in Europe, VakifBanke will play at six!

At the F4 which VakifBank won, two the most powerful players were named for the MVP of the tournament. In 2010/2011 that was Malgorzata Glinka-Mogentale who was the main attacker of Vakifbank while in 2012/2013 that was Serbian opposite Jovana Brakočević Canzian.

Vakifbank in Treviso will face Eczacibasi in the first semifinals on April 22, and they will start match with the next roster: Naz Aydemir Akyol – Lonneke Slöetjes, Kimberly Hill – Zhu Ting, Milena Rašić – Kubra Akman Caliskan, libero Hatice Gizem Örge.

Vakifbank coach Giovanni Guidetti is for sure the most successful volleyball coach these days. He came to the club 2008 and until now with the team, he won gold, silver and bronze at FIVB World Club Championship, two gold medals, two silver medals and one bronze at CEV Champions Leagues, three gold medals at Turkish league, two Turkish Super Cups and two Turkish Cup.
