At the gala evening that was held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Moscow, the CEV declared the award winners for the greatest results in European indoor and beach volleyball in 2017. These are the best achievements in an indoor volleyball this year:
- Male Volleyball Player of the Year: Russian opposite Maksim Mikhailov (Zenit Kazan, Russia), the 2017 CEV Men’s European Championship MVP.
- Female Volleyball Player of the Year: Serbian opposite Tijana Bošković (Eczacıbaşı VitrA İstanbul, Turkey – the award will be delivered to her in tomorrow’s game of the Turkish Championship), the 2017 CEV Women’s European Championship MVP. - Women’s Team Coach of the Year: Italian Giovanni Guidetti (VakıfBank İstanbul, Turkey), the 2017 CEV Women’s Champions League winner.
- Men’s Team Coach of the Year: Russian Vladimir Alekno (Zenit Kazan, Russia), the 2017 CEV Men’s Champions League winner.
- Lifetime Achievement Award: Italian Carlo Magri (the President of an Italian Volleyball Federation from 1995 to February 2017)
- CEV Event of the Year: The 2017 CEV European Championship opener Poland vs. Serbia that was held on a football stadium in Warsaw in front of 65,407 spectators.
- Kings of the Beach: Paolo Nicolai / Daniele Lupo (ITA).
- Special award for outstanding achievement in age-group competitions: Maria Voronina/Mariia Bocharova (RUS).
