In a super-derby of the 2018 CEV Champions League, an Italian side Sir Colussi Sicoma Perugia outclassed big rivals from the home league Cucine Lube Civitanova in a game valid for Round 6, 3-0 (26-24, 25-23, 27-25). This was the 6th encounter of these two titans including all competitions this season with Perugia establishing domination, 5-1 (prevailed in both Champions League duels).
Thus, SuperLega top-seed for the playoffs Perugia earned the same status in Pool A for the Playoffs 12 (6-0; 16 points) in the most elite club tournament in Europe, squeezing out Lube to No.2 (4-2; 13 points). No.1 will give Perugia a chance to avoid other pool winners in the drawing of lots, which will be held on March 2.
The Serbian Aleksandar Atanasijević topped Perugia with 16 points, while U.S. outside hitter Aaron Russell made 82% attack (9/11) and Marko Podraščanin 73% (8/11, blocked once). The Bulgarian Tsvetan Sokolov poured in 25 points for Lube (4 aces, 2 kill blocks). The Serbian Dragan Stanković recorded 4 kill blocks.
