CEV CUP M: Belogorie wake up after losing opening set vs. ACH Volley and progress to semis

Belogorie Belgorod became the ultimate participant of the 2018 CEV Men’s Volleyball Cup semifinals.

The Russian Belogorie Belgorod defeated Slovenian ACH Volley Ljubljana by a 3-1 (23-25, 25-21, 28-26, 25-19) on the road in the 2nd leg of the 2018 CEV Cup (3-0 in the 1st leg) quarterfinals to progress to the semifinals in which they will face Asseco Resovia Rzeszów from Poland.

Konstantin Bakun, who replaced German Georg Grozer (not allowed to compete in the 2018 CEV Cup as he played for Lokomotiv Novosibirsk in the 2018 Champions League) in the lineup, topped Belogorie with 18 points. The Croatian Petar Djirlić (4 aces) and Jan Pokeršnik (80% reception, 25 digs, 1 error) scored 16 points apiece for ACH Volley.

Ziraat Bankası Ankara (Turkey) and Calzedonia Verona (Italy) form the other semifinal pair.
