At 09:10 CET China will meet USA while at 12:20 CET Japan will again play against Serbia.

In the first match of the day, the Rio 2016 Olympic gold medallists China will play against USA who won the bronze medal in Rio. USA are defending world champions but this year they played with many „ups and downs“.

USA and China had also met in the 2014 World Championship final in Milan.

Japan, who claimed a last-minute passage to the top six after taking the first set from Brazil in the very last match of the pool will face Serbia who have suffered two defeats in their last two matches (one from Japan).

They were unbeaten until these matches but we must say that these defeats came after they had already secured their spot in the top six and they played without the main star of the team, Tijana Boskovic.
