VNL 2019 M: Argentina shock France, NCCA standout DeFalco pushes USA over Germany

Argentina stunned France on Week 3 (Day 2) of the 2019 FIVB Men’s Volleyball Nations League – Pool 12!

Argentina avoided setting the new record in longest VNL losing streak, as they scored the first win after five defeats in the 2019 VNL, reaching 3-5 (10 points).

Thanks to a high attacking success rate, in which Argentina’s top scorer of the match Bruno Lima (18 points, 16/26; 61%) and Sebastián Solé (9 points, 8/9; 88%) stood out the most, the South American side downed world super-power France in front of their fans in Cannes: 3-1 (25-18, 25-17, 19-25, 25-20). Stéphen Boyer top-scored for “Les Bleus“ (6-2; 19 points) with 13 points.

The United States leveled their win-loss ratio at 4-4 (13 points), as they downed Germany in four sets in Pool 12.Germany lost for the fourth straight time in the 2019 VNL and now have a 2-6 record (5 points).

Torey DeFalco, a standout for Long Beach State 49ers in their 2019 NCAA Championship title, was the most prolific player for the USA with 18 points. Daniel Malescha scored 15 for Germany.
