The Serbian women’s national team has made the first step toward the Olympics. They defeated Thailand in Wroclaw 3-0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-18).

Zoran Terzic’s side has entered the game in a much better way than the rival, beating the Thai girls in all volleyball segments. Thailand was trying to stay in the race but they had to surrender in the first set: 25-15.

In the second set we have witnessed the strongest resistance of the Thai girls. They were following the Serbian side until the end of the set, when the Serbian girls have managed to make a small advantage and to win the set, increasing the result to 2-0.

The third set was just like the routine for the Serbian team, beating Thailand in straight sets. The Serbian girls were led by Tijana Boskovic who scored 29 points, including 6 aces.

In this Pool, the Polish girls have also scored the win, defeating Puerto Rico in straight sets. It’s now clear that the last round and the game between the host Poland and Serbia will decide the winner of Group A.

Malwina Smarzek was the best scorer with 23 points.
