Jovana Mirosavljevic (Serbia): “It was a very close game, but the winner is Korea. They have a great defence and it’s really hard to play with this team, because they can catch every ball and cover the entire court. They are everywhere. We were very strong during the entire match and they had a lot of motivation to end every ball with an attack. It was a great experience to play against them and I hope that tomorrow we will be better.”

Kim Yeon Koung (Korea): “We were waiting for this victory for a long time, so I’m very happy. We were preparing a lot ahead of this game. After the last games we were focused on improving our counter-attack as it was a missing part. Today after defence we were performing really good counter-attacks and that let us score a few points in a row. We were also serving very aggressively and did a good job in the block. I think that I have a room for improvement especially when it’s about communication with players as then we will be able to have even better performance. We have now a great atmosphere in the team, so now we will prepare ahead of tomorrow’s game and we hope to earn another victory.”

Poland defeated Thailand 3-0 (25-23, 25-15, 25-20). The Polish team was the favorite of this match. Thailand won just one game so far and ranks last in the standings, while Poland is in eleventh place with four wins.

Karina Krause (Thailand): “Today we were not ourselves and we couldn’t find our rhythm, so our performance was not good. Today we didn’t manage to play like yesterday. Tomorrow we want to do our best.”

Zuzanna Gorecka (Poland): “It was a very important match for us. We wanted to win this game and I’m very happy that we won it. It’s difficult to play against a team like Thailand because they play a lot of combinations. It’s not the style of volleyball that we are used to seeing, but we managed to handle it. Tomorrow we have another game, so we have to stay focused and give our best to earn another win. I think we played very well in defence and in attack and these were the decisive elements.”

Brazil continues to chase the leaders in the standings, the USA, after a hard-fought four-set victory over Germany. Brazil defeated Germany 3-1 (22-25, 25-17, 25-21, 25-22)
