The United States’ young volleyball team ended their Volleyball Nations League 2024 campaign in Antalya on a high note, securing their first win against hosts Türkiye. Opposite Jake Hanes was instrumental, scoring 31 points, including 29 spikes at a 64% success rate and two aces, leading to a 3-1 (20-25, 25-22, 27-25, 25-21) victory. This win improved the USA’s record to 1-3, moving them up to 12th place in the standings. Türkiye remains winless at 0-4.

In other VNL action, Italy defeated Brazil 3-2 in Rio de Janeiro, with Alessandro Michieletto scoring 22 points to keep Italy unbeaten. The Netherlands celebrated a 3-1 win over Bulgaria, and Germany secured a 3-0 victory against Serbia, complicating Serbia’s Olympic qualification prospects.
